About Dr. Susan Hazan
Dr. Susan Hazan holds aMasters and PhD from Goldsmiths College, University of London in Media and Communications that focused on electronic architectures in the contemporary museum. Hazan has been recognized for her numerous publications on new media in education, art, museums and cultural heritage, and is currently researching and publishing her research on Web 3.0 and persistent worlds. In 2002-2003 Hazan was visiting lecturer at the Computing Department at Goldsmiths, University of London; teaching Web Design and Critical E-Museology, with an emphasis on the correlation between cultural theory and contemporary practice, and is an annual guest lecture in the Museology Department at Haifa University, Israel (2005-2009).
Professional affiliations include; EVA representative in Israel, World Summit Award (WSA) Israel Coordinator, founding partner in Digital Heritage, Israel, and Co-Chair of the Annual Jerusalem Conference on the Digitisation of Cultural Heritage. Hazan sits on the Museums and the Web - Program Committee 2001-2009, and for the Virtual Systems and MultiMedia Conferences to Europe (VSMM2005/2009), and on the Curatoral Panel for Netartsorg - Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts, Japan 2004-2009. Hazan is consulting to both to ATHENA, and Europeana, the European digital library museum and archive, Europeana v1.0 work package 1, work group 1.1: Users, as a specialist in Web 2.0 and social networks in the cultural sector. Hazan acts a Reviewer to Discovery Projects, Australian Research Council (ARC) and Independent Expert for EC Safer Internet Programme.
